OER Acknowledgment

Albert H. White, Jr.

It is with profound gratitude and deep respect that I acknowledge the previous authors of this OER for their exceptional contributions to the field of Open Educational Resources.

I am honored to build upon the scholarly foundation you so carefully and generously constructed. Your willingness to make these resources freely available demonstrates a noble dedication to the principles of equity, accessibility, and intellectual generosity that define the open education movement.

As I adapted your work, I was impressed by your pedagogical rigor, conceptual clarity, and thoughtful design. Your wonderful, careful attention to educational best practices and learner needs has provided an exemplary model that now also recognizes both Improvement Science in Education and Improvement Research in Education, and other evidence-based components. We include a strong focus on the Danielson Framework, Formative Assessment and the Common Core/Next Generation frameworks utilized in New York State.

Your contribution to open educational texts extends far beyond this single resource or a specific classroom setting. When we, as academics, choose to share our expertise freely, we enjoin countless other educators and learners to access high-quality materials. What an amazing and positive academic impact to have, across communities and contexts we might never otherwise encounter in person! This is an example of scholarship in its truest, most generous form, and I join you in this commitment and carry it forward.

I am deeply indebted to your vision, your labor, and your commitment to education.

With utmost respect and appreciation,

Albert H. White, Jr.
